Yahoo Inc. is discussing a possible partnership with News Corp. in its latest effort to repel Microsoft Corp. or prod its unsolicited suitor into raising its current takeover bid, according to a person familiar with the talks.

Not going to work. MS is eventually going to nail Yahoo! Not only it does have a fat cash reserve, it is now hellbent upon rivaling Google in the Internet revenue share. MS is by nature a monopolistic company. MS is undisputed leader in the software market, has gnawed into the gaming console market and became the second leading console vendor with its Xbox consoles. Now it looks like it is training all its guns to capture the Internet market as well.

Underestimating the power of MS is like underestimating the US's military prowess.
